SapphireLab® Warranty Terms

Definitions

For the purposes of these Warranty Terms:

  • “Hardware” means the SapphireLab® system and any associated modules, components, or subsystems provided by Interface Fluidics.

  • “Customer” means the entity purchasing or receiving the Hardware.

  • “Delivery Date” means the date on which the Hardware is made available to the Customer in accordance with the shipping terms specified in the order.

  • “Commissioning” or “Commissioning Date” means the process by which Interface Fluidics completes installation and initial quality checks to verify operational readiness; commissioning does not affect the start of the warranty period.

  • “Documentation” refers to the technical specifications, performance criteria, and materials listed in Schedule D.

1. Warranty Coverage Overview

Interface Fluidics provides a global warranty for all SapphireLab® systems (“Hardware”) it manufactures. The warranty applicable in the country where the Hardware is installed will apply.

If the system is relocated to another country, the warranty will continue to apply at the new location; however, the scope of service and available remedies remain subject to the limitations described in Section 10, and on-site support may not be available in regions where Interface Fluidics does not maintain a service presence or authorized representative.

This warranty applies to complete SapphireLab® systems and any hardware modules or subsystems delivered as part of an order.

2. Start Date and Duration

The warranty term begins on the Delivery Date, defined as the date the Hardware is delivered to the Customer’s designated location.

Commissioning (installation and initial quality checks performed by Interface Fluidics) does not alter or delay the start of the warranty period. The purpose of commissioning is to verify system functionality, not to initiate warranty coverage.

From the Delivery Date, Interface Fluidics warrants the Hardware for one (1) year, during which the system is expected to perform in accordance with the technical specifications and performance criteria set out in Schedule D (“Documentation”).

Any variations in warranty duration for custom or optional components will be identified in the purchase documentation.

Damage, loss, or deterioration occurring after delivery and before commissioning is the Customer’s responsibility and is not covered under this warranty.

3. Hardware Performance Warranty

Interface Fluidics guarantees that the Hardware:

  • Conforms to the functional and performance specifications in the Documentation;
  • Is free from material and workmanship defects under normal use;
  • Performs reliably when operated in accordance with Interface Fluidics’ requirements and environmental guidelines.

If a defect or non-conformance is reported within the warranty period, Interface Fluidics will take one of the following actions at its discretion:

  1. Repair the affected item;
  2. Provide a replacement component or module; or
  3. Deliver remote diagnostics, calibration guidance, or firmware updates required to restore expected performance.

If Interface Fluidics determines that a defect cannot be corrected within a reasonable timeframe, the Customer may be eligible for a refund for the affected component, contingent on returning the part to Interface Fluidics.

The Customer is responsible for shipping the Hardware to Interface Fluidics for repairs. Interface Fluidics covers the return shipment of the repaired or replacement item. For replacement-only shipments where the original component is not returned for repair, the Customer is responsible for inbound shipping costs unless otherwise agreed in writing.

The Customer is responsible for any applicable tariffs, import duties, customs fees, or related governmental charges associated with the repaired or replacement item.

4. Warranty for Third-Party Components

Certain SapphireLab® systems incorporate third-party hardware, identified in Schedule D. These components are covered exclusively by the manufacturer’s warranties. Depending on the circumstances, Interface Fluidics may coordinate warranty claims with the respective manufacturers, but Interface Fluidics does not extend or supplement those warranties.

5. Software Warranty

Interface Fluidics warrants that:

  • SapphireLab® Software will execute its programmed functions without failure caused by defects in materials or workmanship;
  • Interface Fluidics-developed Software will substantially perform in accordance with its documentation when used on Hardware specified by Interface Fluidics.

The warranty does not cover issues related to:

  • Software use on unsupported hardware, operating systems, or networks;
  • Custom requirements or performance expectations not defined in Interface Fluidics documentation;
  • Continuous or uninterrupted operation of any Software.

6. Warranty on Service Work

Service performed by Interface Fluidics—whether remote or on-site—will be carried out with competent workmanship and technical care.

For forty-five (45) days after a repair, any part replaced by Interface Fluidics that is later found to be defective will be replaced at no cost.

Interface Fluidics may, at its discretion, use a qualified local agent or authorized representative to deliver on-site support during the warranty period.

Interface Fluidics will provide one (1) on-site local support visit, delivered either by Interface Fluidics personnel or through its authorized agent or representative, if such support is deemed necessary, as determined solely by Interface Fluidics.

Any additional on-site warranty visits during the warranty period will be billed to the Customer at Interface Fluidics’ standard service rates.

Some newly manufactured systems may include reconditioned components that meet Interface Fluidics’ performance standards.

7. Transfer of Warranty

The SapphireLab® warranty may be transferred to a new owner. To initiate a transfer, the Customer must notify Interface Fluidics in writing and provide:

  • The system’s model identification, and serial number;
  • The name, address, and operational location of the new owner;
  • Written confirmation that the new owner agrees to the SapphireLab® Warranty Terms.

Interface Fluidics may require an inspection of the system (at the Customer’s expense) before approving warranty transfer for systems that have been relocated.

8. Limitations and Exclusions

This warranty does not apply to issues arising from:

  • Unauthorized installation, modification, servicing, or calibration performed by anyone other than Interface Fluidics or an authorized party;
  • Use of non-approved accessories, consumables, chips, sensors, or peripherals;
  • Operation outside of specified temperature, pressure, environmental, or electrical limits;
  • Normal wear-and-tear items, including o’rings, gaskets and seals, filters, tubings, Ferrules and fittings, consumable microfluidic chips, or any component identified as consumable;
  • Physical damage, misuse, accidents, negligence, or improper handling;
  • Relocation, transport, or storage not arranged or approved by Interface Fluidics;
  • Use under hazardous or non-approved conditions.
  • Damage, loss, or deterioration occurring after delivery and prior to commissioning, including improper storage, handling, or environmental exposure at the Customer’s facility;

9. Exclusive Remedy

The remedies described in this warranty—repair, replacement, remote technical correction, or refund of the affected part—constitute the exclusive remedies available to the Customer for any warranty claim.

Interface Fluidics provides no other warranties, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, unless expressly agreed in writing.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Interface Fluidics is not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages;
  • Lost data, lost productivity, or lost revenue;
  • Costs associated with downtime or delays;
  • Damage arising from the use of third-party consumables or unauthorized modifications.

Interface Fluidics’ total liability under this warranty is limited to the remedies explicitly stated herein.
